Lindy and Barry Goodwin are both experienced Art Directors, sharing a wealth of magazine and advertising design experience. More importantly, they are the proud parents of budding artists, Ivy and Eliza.
In the UK, Barry was Group Art Editor for the Pre-School Magazines at BBC Worldwide before eventually moving to Australia. Individually, Lindy and Barry have worked on brands such as L’Oreal, TAG Heuer, Giorgio Armani, Tiffany and Co, Mini Cooper, Veuve Clicquot, Harper’s Bazaar and The Sunday Times (UK) and have numerous industry awards between them – including Designer of the Year award at Australia’s largest publishing company, Bauer Media. They each have extensive professional experience and awarded talent in art, graphic design and photography, making them the perfect choice to trust with your child’s art.
“My Child’s Art developed from something we wanted to make for our own home. It started the very day our little girl Ivy could pick up a crayon,” recalls Barry. “After a couple of years of drawing, painting and craft the house was full of little creative moments that we just couldn’t throw away – from her first scribbles to her first unicorn painting.” Lindy says, “We wanted these to be part of our everyday lives and something we can celebrate rather than having them falling off the fridge or squeezed into a cupboard out of sight.”
What they do at My Child’s Art is combine a child’s collection of art (from little doodles on scrap paper to paintings they have done at School) into one amazing collage. You really can’t stop staring at it once it’s complete. There’s so much to let your eyes wander about and find.
